"do you know who is funding these mages or do you think they are self funded?" " I do not know for sure, but I suspect they are self-funded. I truely hope they're not connected to any corp and I haven't found anything in my research that leads me to believe that they are."
In a soft, but level voice Nix adds to Sam's question, " Also, while most magical theories discount time travel as impossible, the fact that you consider it a possibility with this group definitely raises their threat rating. Should they have the ability to jump back in time even 10 seconds, they would present a near impossible challenge to most challengers. It also heightens the possbility of unique spells for attack and defense that have not previously been encountered. That said, I assume that your opening offer was just that, a starting point for negotiation?" " At what point did I offer negotiations? I am putting you on retainer and as such I expect you to do as assigned. I can and will provide additional support in the way of discretionary funds and/or equipment, but at ¥2,000 a week I expect you to be able to adapt to the situation. As far as the formulae, that will be negotiated to our mutual benefits. I, to the best of my knowldege, am in the market for long-term operatives. I hope that you," as he looks at each person, " will be them."
He will wait for a few more seconds to field any other questions then will start to leave. Just when he gets to the doorway Blood Fear blurts, " How do we contact you?" Jackal turns and replies, " That info will be given to you upon your cashing those cheques."

Assensing as the questions are asked: Sam [dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6] Nix [dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6] Blood Fear[dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6] redo [dice=6][dice=6]
After his response, I grumble a little bit at the price and say: I'm used to doing the work cheap for the government but you are pushing the record books! You government types sure do expect a lot for little... Gotta question, well 2: Is this a legit deal, are you a government type? or part of some corp or private entity? You said Washington DC - thats why I asked... And if you going to be so cheap, dinner's on you right? [rand=60724396711146030537381761130383373923033964100544706600335939852]

Sam looks over at Howser "If Mr. Johnson wanted us to know who he worked for he would have told us. Second if he had told us then yes the deal would have to be legit and he would have used his own men, not us. Thirdly dont grumble about pay cause if you dont want it ill take it."

Hack'ed sits back and listens intently as the Johnson lays out the deal, thinking to him self. Well I would rather not go back to Seattle, but such is life. Time travel, fuck thats heavy shit, hope they haven't figured anything out.
He stays silent as the others assault the Johnson with questions, doing his best to mentally keep track of who's asking what and the answers. As the Johnson hands out the envelopes Hack'ed takes his, opening it scanning the check and the looks up at the Johnson, "I'm in."

Nix keeps his external demeanor chill as Johnson makes his retort and reinforces a racial stereotype. "I'm in..... at least for the first week." he says.
He thinks about the situation to himself as the others weigh in, "Well, each Johnson has their own way I guess.. We'll see how much of a pro he is in the coming weeks."

From Blood Fear: "So nice to know everyone is interested in saving the world vs. lining their pockets with NuYen." <barks out a laugh> Turns to address Sam: "I know this guy from way back," points at Jackal, "and he is one of the more honest Johnsons out there. That doesn't mean that he won't screw us over. It just means that there will be a reason that we might buy to make him do it."

Looking around the table, Nix addresses those who now comprise the other members of his team. "Shall we adjourn to a location of our own choosing to discuss matters of protocol and better understand the strengths we each bring to the table?"

Got front seat remade to fit Trolls legs and such - even room in back. I don't guess our new Mr. J is financing my roaring belly. . . (as if on cue my stomache growls, filling the room). I can't concentrate on an empty stomache - you guys know a good place?

From Blood Fear: "What's wrong with this place? If it's secure enough for the meet then why move?" Blood Fear signals to the waitress, who then walks over while pulling out her order pad. Blood Fear: "How long the room reserved?" She replies: "Till close I guess, there aint nobodyelse on the schedule. You guys staying for food or drinks?" Blood Fear looks around.
((not trying to railroad, but you only have to leave if you want.))

Nix looks around the room at the various people he now calls his teammates, weighing their expressions, their body language and their reactions. "Mr Johnson may trust in the precautions and appearance of security here, but I found him to be rash and assuming. The coming weeks will require us to rely ourselves, and each other, without error. The time to start being paranoid is now and to that end I suggest a more secure location before we talk openly." Looking towards the waitress, "One that is deprived of unaffiliatated third parties."
