Clu has dialed straight into Consumer Hell.
The node is flooded with fully-animated and rendered three-dimensional animal icons that bark, hiss, yap, screech, snort, bleet, or any other sound an animal makes. However, these animals would appear to be not of the, ah, "natural" variety. Most of them look like hybrids or custom genegineering jobs. That might be a fur-covered deck squawking about - It also looks like it's an information portal leading to various helpfiles and price estimates. The six-armed ape with a snout looks as though it can lead the way to various testimonials of happy and satisfied customers. As Clu stands in the middle of the host - which looks to be a panorama of many different types of natural habitats made into a sort of spectrum - the cacaphony of fake, VR animal sounds completely floods his digital senses.

Raw consumerism at it's darkest. And yet people still ask me why I'm so prejudice against the Coroprate powers that be. he says to himself with a smirk. Okay let's get to work. he says as he reaches up to his forehead and a pair of googles appear in his grip, he pulls them down over his eyes.
OOC: matrix perception test (p.217). I'm looking at the pet factory's node, specifically I want to know what it's Firewall rating is, Analyse program rating (if any) it has, and if any IC are waiting on stand-by. I'm not hacking anything yet, just looking. +2 for being VR and +2 for being a Technomancer (p.233) Analyse + Computer skill + 2 + 2 [dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][rand=67044460044869166188453878906723793613996804931807739869579725989]

As Clu reaches out with his mind, the complex forms of his unique brain chemistry turn raw digital signal into information. He sifts through the excess and junk code and puts together a picture of the node not presented on the surface. His reach does not go as far as he would like, but comparing the host's software to the current industry standards, the Firewall it boasts as well as its Analyze program would both have to be considered a 4.

He again grabs the disk off his back and turns to his sprite, Simon says, back me up while I rip this system. He concentrates and makes a slicing motion with his disk. His operation window floods with information as his exploit utilities engage and begin working to break open the Pet Factories security.

(Clu, I just kept repeating the results you got on your roll and that the host got on its rolls to detect you to determine what happened. This is in order to speed things up a bit.)
Clu slashes a rift in the host's digital space right as the animals are converging on him, all making their little animal noises and overwhelming him with their eagerness to help and their unbridled, animated cuteness. He steps into what looks like a generic console room, with monitors showing scenes from within the building, as well as cameras on the outside. Having been in a few systems, Clu knows this to be more or less a standard, unmodified, default host appearance, for those too lazy to change it and preferring a more utilitarian environment.
Other monitors scroll rapidly with green and yellow text, lines of code and bars of messages filling a buffer with an ongoing analysis of the system, status reports, information about the various security systems, and everything else he could want to know about this particular building in regards to the inner workings.
On the other side of the rift back out into the consumer information side of the host, cartoon animals bump into the shimmering surface, trying to get to Clu to help him with all his requests. Something looking like a bipedal dog with large, floppy ears lets out a high-pitched squeak as he walks into the rift, failing to enter, then falls over backwards.

Yeah, play dead. he says to the noxtious and annoying virtual pets as he closes the rift and settles into the security node. He touches the ARO key to open the team's comm channel.I'm in, fifteen more seconds. Time to get to work. he says as his hand again makes a circular motion and pounding high energy music begins paying as his music player opens. Looking closely at the Yellow and green text scrolling by in the monitors he double checks to make sure he hasn't set off any alarms and has hacked in undetected. (Assuming he has) He then locates the monitor that outputs the feed from the security camera Jade is trying to bypass and goes to work with his edit utility, looping the feeds. Once he has the camera's properly blinded, he does a quick check to make sure there's no secondary security in Jade's way, such as laser trip wires, motion detector's, etc. and disables or blinds any of them. Again, he taps the ARO key to open the teams channel, You have the green light Jade, let's slot and run. As Jade does her thing, he continues working. He pulls up a security system schematic and saves it to file so he'll have the Pet Factories entire security layout. He then uses his threaded browse complex form to find Mr. Murray's and Miffy's file , figuring the Pet Factory will have all the info needed on their target, Miffy. Once that's done he spoofs his trail and erases any trace of him being here and logs out. As soon as Clu signals she has a green light, Jade goes to work. She moves up to the unit, begins the process of opening the maintenance hatch and finally places the small item of Clu's inside. As she begins to re-close the hath she signals to Satchel, Job done... on my way down. Where do you want to pick me up? Jade climbs back down her rope as she waits for Satchel's instructions then hits the stealth rope with the catalyst stick and watches as it disintegrates. Jade skillfully and effortlessly rappels down the side of the building, landing back on the ground without incident.
Meanwhile, Clu's uncovered a trove of information. Apparently these PetFactory! outlets are a chain of stores that specialize in the creation and care of genegineered household pets. They are owned by a larger company, Prism GeneTech Solutions, and were started in the wake of the Genome Copyright Act a few years previous.
Murray bought Miffy (or rather, contracted Prism GeneTech Solutions via PetFactory! to create a specific genetic formula, which was then licensed to him) two years ago as a family pet. Upon looking at the health records for Miffy, Clu finds an image of the animal. Miffy appears to be a cabbit -- that is, it has the body of a cat and the head of a rabbit. The records indicate that the animal is both asexual *AND* sterile as a preventative measure to keep "derivative works" from being created.
Murray also apparently brings Miffy in every two weeks for a regular check-up and grooming, and always pays top dollar for the best care that PetFactory! has to offer, regardless of the price.

He steps out of the Pet Factory node and into his home node, making note of the security level passcode as he does. He closes his music player and begins scanning over all the data he's collected. In a few minutes he's absorbd the information, he then opens a comm channel to the others. Come on home guys, I have some pay data for us. I'm uploading the good stuff now. he taps a few ARO keys in his operations display to send the information to the others commlinks. Good news is our target seems to be harmless and my passcodes to security level access should get me in tomorrow with no problems. Bad news is the Pet Factory looks to pack some decent security and boasts a full genetech lab on premisis. This isn't going to be like holding up a pet shop or a dog groomer. Hopefully I can shoulder surf the manager, via my Kanmushi micro drone, when he or she opens up shop in the morning and get some Admin passcodes. His attention turns to his crack sprite now. Simon says, get lost. Bye now. he says as the hack sprite dissolves. One last thing before I catch some shut eye. Again he reaches through the digital realm and into that unknown realm that is the source of all technomancers unusual abilities as he attempts to call up a machine sprite.

OOC: Forgot my Fading test Willpower+Resonance+2. [dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6]
As soon as the sprite appears Clu commands it, Jump into my Shiawase Kanmushi micro-drone and move throughout the ventalation systems of the Pet Factory. Do not leave the vents and stay away from cameras. he then sets the micro-drone to record for the next eight hours. As the sprite goes off to do it's dog work he sets his commlink to wake him an hour and a half before the Pet Factory is due to open.[rand=9923511564708976630037941203234405954986404221810162604064580383]

A brief, turbulant swirling of code and raw data congeals into an entity looking much like a steampunk android, complete with the obligatory gears, pistons, and hisses of steam. However, as it steps into being in the virtual world of the Matrix, the Resonance spikes briefly, filling Clu's digital mind with brief, white-hot shards of pain that vanish as soon as they begin. When all is said and done, the sprite is standing there with a notably vacant expression, docile and compliant as Clu gives it its instructions. Clu also notices that is is much more "aware" of the sprite, as if he'd registered it.
Dutifully, the sprite jumps into the drone, and then the little machine is scurrying on its way, away from Jade, and disappearing into the murk of the ventilation systems.
(Critical glitch on Sprite's resistance roll, it becomes registered, and bypasses maximum allowed number of sprites. 3 tasks to it, minus one for its current instructions. You've effectively scored an R:3 Machine Sprite with 2 more tasks to it. No damage from Fading.)

"Jade, head away from the electronics shop. The Knight's are still jawing. I'll meet you block down out of sight of the Knight's." As he's talking in to the comm Satchel goes through the motions to get his car moving. Making sure his lights are on and he has his seat belt fastened, no reason to ask for trouble.
Following the listed speed limit Satchel pulls out of the parking lot of the Stuffer Shack and heads down the street to the meet with Jade.
Once he knows hes out of plain sight of the crusiers he'll stop and wait for Jade. Keeping an eye out for any of their friends.

"Got it Satchel... on my way now." Jade moves through the alley using the shadows to hide and checks carefully with normal & thermal vision before crossing any open areas, making sure no one is around to spot her. Arriving at the rendezvous point she waits for Satchel and enters his car as soon as it arrives. Jade arrives safely at Satchel's vehicle, the Knight-Errant officers still chattering away, oblivious to the shadowy deeds going down two blocks away. With no obstacles to overcome, she's in the vehicle with the door shut behind her.

By the time Satchel and Jade return to his apartment he is fast asleep in his bed loft. Several blankets are laid out and the couches are made out to lumpy, though decently comfortable, beds. As the two enter the gigantic trideo unit at the far end of the studio scrolls a message "I need some sack time. I'll be back up at 9:00 am. Make yourselves at home. See ya over an espresso in the morning. Clu." He is fast asleep up in the loft, peaceful trip-hop techno playing over a pair of head phones he's wearing. He snores softly. Sometime during the early morning an alarm sounds over the head phones and he wakes just long enough to direct his drone through the maze of vents at the Pet Factory and get a clear view of the managers desk comm. Hoping to catch her entering her Admin pass-codes as she logs in at the start of the day. Then he falls back asleep, still crouched in his home node in VR. Surrounded in his virtual world a sexy, scantily clad, woman shakes him awake with gentle nudges and sweet whispers. His virtual eyes open, Sometimes, I wish I could live here. With a snap of his fingers he disconnects and his physical eyes flutter open. What a fraggin' drag. I hate reality, he says quietly as he removes his headphones, and lights a cigarette; laying back and staring at the cracked and pealing paint on the ceiling.
