As the vehicle turns onto Quar road, the rain lets up slightly. The road looks untraveled lately. As you drive a little ahead, you see flashes of light above the ground, just below the tree line. Pulling the vehicle to the side of the road (and turning off the lights I'm assuming), you see a chopper hovering above the junkyard, firing twin automatic machine guns towards the yard. A fireball from the yard hits the chopper but the chopper seems barely effected by it. You see an errant rocket pass by the chopper, and at this point you can hear screaming from the yard. Scanning the yard quickly, you can see the 3 vans parked by the entrance of the junkyard. It appears that one of the vans is started, or someone left the lights on. With the fire in the junkyard illuminating it, you can see at least 3 people on the ground and one person firing back at the chopper. As no-one has knowledge skills regarding aircraft, the lighting is bad, and its a ways off; I impose a -5 die to anyone trying to ascertain anything about the chopper, +2 if you have low-light vision and +1 if you have magnification (threshold varies by details desired). As far as the yard goes, with the lighting and distance, I impose a -3 die to check, +2 with low light and +1 magnification (again, threshold varies by results desired).
You are roughly 1500 ft away from the vans and at this point doesn't seem like you've been spotted. Actions? (my next post will be on Friday... use this time to strategize and talk. When you have your desired action chosen, please surround it in asterisks like such
*Gunner raises his rifle, aiming for the guy in the junkyard.*

With my voice rising in hysterics: "Crap, who are they? Kimiko did you know about this?" Dropping my voice to a squeaky whisper: "By Zeus' left tumorous pinky! We can take the Vans now. Look! There's nobody around them!"

Knowing too well this looked bad Hez figures he can't do much this far away, may as well see if it was gonna get worse.
*Astrally perceive the junkyard and chopper. Seeing the fireball cast I want to look for that spirit or any other magic types.*

Xeno: You cast your spell in the hopes no one notices. My records show you have 2 sustain spell foci rating 2. Is this correct? Honor system- please send me your successes (5's and 6's) and failures (1's) and whether you're using edge or not.
Hez: You cannot see where the spell came from. The spirit that Xeno claims to have seen is no where in sight. You do see the rats in the yard as he described, but you are unable to see inside the chopper and only one person alive fighting from the grou... no wait... make that no one seemingly alive on the ground as a hail of bullets plow through his flesh. When you say "look for magic types", are you proclaiming you want to assense the people?
Freemymind, Kimiko, Tank and Nairb are staring at the situation, frozen momentarily by the unexpectedness of it all.
Seconds after the last Halloweener fell to the ground dead, the chopper moves to hover over the center of the yard. 5 people start repelling down some ropes and begin collecting the dead bodies and putting them into hiding spots. The chopper leaves the area and the 5 men seemingly take positions pretty similar to how Xeno described the layout when he perceived it. All this happened in less than 5 minutes. Although they have created a slight perimeter, they seem a little disorganized. Perhaps a distraction would serve to create an opportunity to steal the vans.
I know life can be a little crazy and not allow people the chance to post regularly... I don't want to slow to a point where we have one action a week so I'm trying to work with a 48 hour maximum between actions. if you are going to be unable to post, please PM me so I can carry on the campaign.
Moving on, plz claim your next actions surrounded by *'s.

With only the slightest of hesitations I whip out my 1st 2 spells. Placing a slightly glowing brown field of force around myself and a second field of force, this time a 2mx2m (also slightly glowing brown), between the van and the direction of the helicopter.
"Ok Boss I got aerial protection going. I can drop a Glue Strip on the baddies as soon as we vacate this vehicle. BTW what's going to happen to your ride when we steal the other three?"
*ACTION: Ready to cast Glue Strip on the nearest goon(s): /ACTION*

Kimiko is stunned by the helicopters taking out the Halloweeners. Then they lay out the bodies. This is their chance to snag the vans!
"I hope there's four people that can drive, because we're going to need wheels when we turn the vans over. For right now, let's get the vans and the one Halloweener."
*Takes out her gun and waits for the distraction before going in.*

Kimiko- the one halloweener was torn to shreds (post to Hez). You saw where the bodies were dumped if you wish to acquire one.
It sounds like everyone is holding their turns. As the men in the facility are not actively seeking, but are on guard; you guys have pre-emptive strike. Xeno, Free and Kimiko roll inits plz. Tank, Hez and Nairb, if you can get an action in before my next post, you may roll inits at a -2 die penalty.

Yay, the die roller is working again so everyone please use it. A reminder on 4th Ed initiative scores.
"To determine a character’s Initiative Score, make an Initiative Test using his Initiative attribute. (A character’s Initiative attribute is the sum of Reaction and Intuition.) Edge may be used on this test. Add the hits to your Initiative attribute— this total is your Initiative Score. The gamemaster records the score for each character, from highest to lowest. The character with the highest score goes first and the others follow in descending order."
For example: Cottonmouth has an Initiative attribute of 8 (Reaction 4 + Intuition 4), so he rolls 8 dice on his Initiative Test. He rolls 1, 2, 2, 3, 5, 5, 6, 6—a total of 4 hits. That makes his Initiative Score 12 (8 + 4). The ganger running his way with a baseball bat has a score of 13, however, so Cottonmouth won’t be going first.

Will post results of 1st initiative pass Tues @ 6:00ish. Those who have not posted inits and actions plz do so.
I've been racking my brain on how to "hold actions." Since this is by post and not a live rpg, whats everyones thoughts? I'd hate to type a 400 word post about an enemy dwarf that hits and kills a player causing the car they were driving to go careening off a cliff and killing a mage that just finished casting a spirit that would now be a rogue spirit who immediately incinerates the troll who was carrying the explosives, thus destroying a facility and causing the release of toxic chemicals, etc...
and then have someone who was holding write "I'll shoot the dwarf first."
